Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, has introduced a new connectorized, high performance VCO that operates over the 38.4 to 43.2 GHz band, and is ideal for OC-768 Fiber Optic Systems, millimeterwave subsystems, and a wide range of industrial, medical, lab and test equipment applications.
The HMC-C073 is a connectorized, VCO module which operates over a 38.4 to 43.2 GHz band. An internal output buffer provides +13 dBm of output power and provides excellent frequency pulling performance of only 5 kHz peak to peak. Single sideband phase noise performance is excellent at -98 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset and the unit provides exceptional jitter of 37 fs (calculated). The Vtune port accepts an analog tuning voltage from +2 to +13V. The HMC-C073 operates from a +5V DC supply, while consuming only 350 mW.
The HMC-C073 is specified for operation from -55°C to +85°C, and is housed in a miniature hermetically sealed module (0.7" x 0.99" x 0.23") with a 2.4 mm output connector.
