New Low Cost Voltage Variable Attenuator (VVA)

MMIC 8-Lead SMT Voltage Variable Attenuator DC - 8 GHz

 Hittite Microwave introduces an absorptive Voltage Variable Attenuator (VVA) in a low cost 8 lead surface mount package. Features of the HMC346MS8G include wide bandwidth (DC to 8 GHz), low phase shifts vs. attenuation, 32 dB attenuation range, and simplified voltage control. An on-chip reference attenuator for use with an external op-amp to provide simple single voltage attenuation control, 0 to -3V. The HMC346MS8G is ideal in designs where analog DC control must control RF signal levels over a 30 dB amplitude range. Applications include AGC circuits and temperature compensations of multiple gain stages in microwave point-to-point and VSAT radios.
