Hittite Microwave introduces a pair of Heterojunction-Bipolar-Transistor (HBT) Medium Power MMIC Amplifiers, operating between 1.7 - 2.8 GHz with up to +27 dBm output power and +40 dBm OIP3 from a single supply voltage. The HMC413QS16G is ideal for use as a linear PA driver in cellular, PCS or 3G base-station and repeater transmitters. Data intensive driver applications such as W-CDMA, 802.11b WLAN & MMDS will find the HMC414MS8G an excellent choice. The HMC413QS16G provides 22 dB of gain and +29.5 dBm of saturated power at 42% PAE from a +5.0V supply over 1.7 to 2.3 GHz. The HMC414MS8G provides 20dB of gain and +30 dBm of saturated power at 32% PAE from a +5.0V supply over 2.2 to 2.8 GHz. In both cases, the HMC414MS8G and the HMC413QS16G can operate using a 3.6V supply. Each product has a power down control input (Vpd) that can be used for efficient control of DC current consumption and RF output power. Both amplifiers have an exposed base for improved RF and thermal performance and require minimum external components. The HMC414MS8G is packaged in a low cost, surface mount 8 leaded package (3.0mm x 5.0 mm) and the HMC413QS16G is packaged in low cost, surface mount 16 leaded QSOP package (5.0 mm x 6.0 mm).
