  1. What does Hittite Microwave do?
    Hittite Microwave Corporation designs and develops high performance integrated circuits, or ICs, modules, subsystems and instrumentation for technically demanding radio frequency, or RF, microwave and millimeterwave applications covering the frequency range of DC to 110 GHz. We have developed a deep knowledge of analog, digital and mixed-signal semiconductor technology, from the device level to the design and assembly of complete subsystems. Our Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit (RFIC) and Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) products are developed using state-of-the-art Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) and Silicon based semiconductor processes. We believe that the combination of our proprietary circuit design and semiconductor device modeling expertise and our broad engineering, assembly and test capabilities provides us with a competitive advantage and enables us to deliver high performance, high value products to our customers. Our business is characterized by the breadth and diversity of our product offerings, customer base, end markets and applications. Our product portfolio currently includes more than 800 standard products and many more custom products, spanning twenty-five functional product lines.

    We are a fabless company (we do not own a semiconductor wafer fabrication line) and design our products using outside wafer foundry services for more than 13 gallium arsenide and silicon-based semiconductor processes. We have our own in-house manufacturing and test capabilities and use a variety of standard and proprietary packaging technologies, enabling us to match the process and package to our customers’ requirements.
