Design Engineering

1. RFIC/MMIC Design Engineers

RFIC/MMIC Design Engineers (Multiple Openings)

Overview:
Duties include: utilizing RF circuit design, circuit design at the transistor level, and CAD, will assist Sr. Engineer in performing detailed circuit design of RF amplifiers, power amplifiers, mixers, switches, attenuators, VCOs and RFICs in CMOS, MESFET, HBT, Bipolar or PHEMT technologies. Diverse design opportunities from DC to 50 GHz are available, job includes; layout and MMIC design capture; test and evaluation. Requires MSEE degree or equivalent.

2. RF Test Automation Engineer

RF Test Automation Engineer

Overview:
Responsible for the design, development, and support of automated test systems for use in an Engineering environment. This position requires design of custom hardware interface test sets, experience with rf /mw measurements, test instrumentation, and the ability to write controller software in a Windows environment. Requires BSEE with 5 years experience in an RF Production testing environment. Experience with National Instruments I/O Cards, Lab Windows/CVI or ‘C’ , and ability to get a secret clearance a plus.

3. Cadence CAD Software Engineer

Cadence CAD Software Engineer

Overview:
Develop, integrate and maintain tools to enhance the Cadence CAD flow environment. Requires experience with Cadence design and verification tools including auto-routing, LVS, DRC and SKILL programming. Responsibilities include writing, maintaining and modifying DRC & LVS files, creation of Skill scripts to automate various layout tasks, creation and maintenance of cell libraries, installation and support of new processes. Requires BSEE or engineering technology degree with at least 5 years CAD Experience and familiarity with Cadence toolset.

4. Microwave Device Modeling Engineer

Microwave Device Modeling Engineer

Overview:
Responsible for all device-modeling activities to support MMIC and hybrid design engineering activities. The modeling engineer will interface with MMIC designers and production assembly/test technicians. Position requires:

Hands on experience with network analyzers, parameter analyzers and load pull test equipment. Should have experience in the frequency range from DC to at least 20 GHz. Experience with small signal lumped element parameter extraction of diode, FET and HBT device models. Experience with extraction of nonlinear coefficients from FET DC IV characteristics for Curtice, Statz, Parker, Matirka and EHEMT models. Experience with extraction of nonlinear coefficients from HBT DC IV characteristics for Gummel-Poon, Ebers-Moll and VBIC models. Experience with extraction of nonlinear coefficients from diode DC IV characteristics. Experience with insertion of both linear and nonlinear models into various transient and nonlinear simulators including Libra, ADS, SpectraRF and Pspice. Requires BSEE degree, strong organizational skills, and experience with microwave devices and test equipment.

5. Engineering Specialists

Engineering Specialists

Overview:
Responsible for the electrical testing of microwave hybrid modules including trouble-shooting to the component level. Requires a high school diploma, strong working knowledge of RF/Microwave test equipment, and 3+ years experience with Microwave products & applications. Familiarity with software programs such as AutoCAD & MSExcel is a plus. U. S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency Required.

6. Designer-Drafter

Designer-Drafter

Overview:
Mechanical Design Drafter to support the design layout and detail drafting of microwave chip & wire modules for commercial, military & space applications. Must have a strong working knowledge of RF hybrid circuit design & construction. Work directly with Microwave design engineers to mature new products from concept to production. AutoCAD, Inventor & minimum 5 years related experience required.

7. Digital S/W Engineer

Digital S/W Engineer

Overview:
Responsible for the hardware design, development, integration and verification of microprocessor based digital control with complex radio frequency products. Must be proficient in digital design and implementation utilizing CPLD’s and FGPA’s along with a variety of digital I/O and analog devices. Must have experience with A/D’s, D/A’s, power supplies and signal conditioning circuits in analog hardware. Must be proficient in Full CPLD and FGPA design cycle using ModelSim PE/SE and Verilog. Familiarity with RF and microwave circuits a plus. BSEE and 7+ years of Digital/Software and Analog design experience required.

8. Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer

Overview:
Mechanical Packaging Engineer to support design/development of highly integrated microwave chip and wire modules for commercial, military and space applications. Candidates must be versed in design, analysis and manufacturing processes associated with microwave hybrids. AutoCAD, Inventor, ANSYS experience a plus. A minimum of 5 years experience and a BSME preferred. U. S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency Required.

9. Digital & Analog IC Design Engineers - Europe

Digital & Analog IC Design Engineers - Europe

Overview:
Hittite Microwave Corporation, an innovative designer and manufacturer of analog/digital ICs and MIC module assemblies for RF and microwave applications covering DC to 110 GHz, is looking for IC designers for the following positions for its Istanbul Design Office.

Design Engineer - Code 101
Responsible for design, layout and evaluation of digital and mixed signal control/interface Integrated Circuits and of baseband/IF signal processing circuits using Silicon Bipolar and CMOS technology. Minimum BSEE +2 year’s relevant IC design, layout and evaluation experience in industry. Experience with foundry process selection and device modeling issues a plus.

Senior Design Engineer - Code 102
Responsible for Silicon-Bipolar/CMOS Analog/RF integrated circuit development. Experience with high speed RF/ analog /mixed signal circuits and/or Sigma-Delta, fractional and synthesizer design required. Minimum BSEE +4 year’s relevant IC design, layout and evaluation experience in industry. Experience with foundry process selection and device modeling issues a plus.

10. Process Technician

Process Technician

Overview:
Perform equipment set-up & process validation for automatic semiconductor manufacturing including die attach & wire bonding of microelectronic components & modules. Requires experience in all aspects of MIL-883 including wafer inspection, hermetic sealing, PIND, SMT solder systems & minimum 5 years related experience. Documentation skills mandatory. Position is 2nd Shift.

11. RFIC Design Engineer - Colorado Operations

RFIC Design Engineer - Colorado Operations

Overview:
Responsible for design, layout, and testing of advanced HF through mmW (VHF through V band+) integrated circuits and systems located at our Colorado Operations. Position requires Analog/RF integrated circuit and/or module, design & test experience and strong circuit design & analysis skills using common CAD tools. Requires BSEE + 5 yrs experience min. with emphasis in Custom RF IC/module design, layout and test. Project management & experience in corporate marketing efforts a plus.

12. Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer

Overview:
The Quality Engineer has an understanding of the principles of product and service quality evaluation and control. This includes, but is not limited to, development and operation of quality control systems, application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures, the ability to use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices, an understanding of human factors and motivation, facility with quality cost concepts and techniques, and the knowledge and ability to develop and administer management information systems and to audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Specific skills required are: A thorough understanding of problem-solving and quality improvement tools and techniques. This includes knowledge of management and planning tools, quality tools, preventive and corrective actions, and how to overcome barriers to quality improvements. A thorough understanding of the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results, and follow-up. A fundamental understanding of a quality system and its development, documentation, and implementation with respect to domestic and international standards or requirements. A fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, standards, organizational and team dynamics, customer expectations and satisfaction, supplier relations and performance, leadership, training, interpersonal relationships, improvement systems, and professional ethics. A basic knowledge of reliability, maintainability, and risk management, including key terms and definitions, modeling, systems design, assessment tools, and reporting. Ability to develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem solving. Ability to plan, control, and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems. Ability to acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods across a spectrum of business environments to facilitate process analysis and improvements. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or equivalent. Certified Quality Engineer and/or Certified Quality Auditor is a plus. Minimum of 5 years related experience. He/she reports to the Director of Quality.

13. Power Amplifier MMIC Designer

Overview:
Hittite is seeking a senior level, experienced Power Amplifier designer to support our product development team. This engineer will provide strategic analysis, design to customer requirements & assist in execution of the product development plan. Requires a Masters degree, 8 to 10 years minimum design experience in amplifier design & long term familiarity with low quiescent current, high linearity product.

14. Cadence Layout Technician

Cadence Layout Technician

Overview:
Responsible for performing layout & verification of integrated circuits in different fabrication processes. Responsibilities include implementation of GaAs & silicon foundry design rules, layout & verification of products on multiple processes, layout checking & product document control. Requires a BSEE with 5 years CAD experience & familiarity with Cadence tools. Limited UNIX knowledge & C programming a plus.

15. Sr. RFIC/MMIC Design Engineer

Sr. RFIC/MMIC Design Engineer

Overview:
Responsible for performing detailed circuit design of RF amplifiers, power amplifiers, mixers, switches, attenuators, VCOs and multifunction RFICs, in SiGe, CMOS, MESFET, HBT or PHEMT technologies. Job includes modeling; simulation layout and MMIC design capture; test and evaluation. Responsibilities will include supervision of an engineering assistant as required. This position requires significant independent work with minimal supervision. Requires MSEE or equivalent

16. Design Engineer

Design Engineer

Overview:
Responsible for design of one or more of the following: Microwave chips/circuits/components; Microwave modules containing microwave chips and components; Digital circuits; Low-frequency analog circuits operating in IF and lower frequencies; Mechanical assemblies; Test fixture; Hardware necessary to complete design, assembly and testing of products. Using knowledge of circuit design techniques and design software, will perform circuit simulation, analysis, verification, circuit layouts, package design, and documentation in the form of circuit schematics, detailed performance data, mechanical drawings, layout drawing, and other appropriate forms. Is also responsible for: test planning, test equipment planning, acquisition, and installation, test software development, and testing and supervision of testing. Must be familiar with capabilities of commercial test equipment and test software. Requires MSEE or equivalent

17. Principal Engineer

Principal Engineer

Overview:
Leads technical team organized to meet objectives of a program. Responsible for conceptualization of technical approach for the program, generates plans to implement the concept, and directs the technical team to attain the goals. Individual must be familiar with microwave chips, circuits, components and systems, and have a broad based knowledge of techniques for circuit design and system implementation. Provides technical directions and instructions to subordinate engineers and technicians, technical status update to the management, and supports the program manager with the customer interface functions. May also serve as the program manager for one or more programs. Requires MSEE degree or equivalent

18. Product Engineer

Product Engineer

Overview:
Responsible for transitioning MMIC prototype designs into standard products. Works with MMIC design engineers to generate product test plans to ensure new products are characterized over all pertinent test conditions. Performs test and evaluation of MMIC die and packaged parts to verify product integrity and coordinates the data input to product data sheets. Designs evaluation test fixtures as necessary. Generates all production documentation associated with new products and ensures that the operations department has all necessary production test fixturing and test software to successfully transition the new product to production. Requires a BSEE degree and three plus years of experience in product design, manufacturing, or applications engineering in microwave IC and components industry. Prior product engineering experience is highly desirable.

19. Senior Packaging Engineer

Senior Packaging Engineer

Overview:
Senior Packaging Engineer will work with a wide range of commercial contract manufacturers (CMs) to determine mid-to long term advanced RF packaging roadmap, assess risks & determine appropriate deployment targets. Working with internal business development managers to ascertain customer requirements & forecast next generation RF packaging needs. Design, develop & implement new high performance low cost packaging technologies into standard product lines. Must be familiar with RF micro-electronics packaging methodologies. Knowledge of chip scale packaging (CSP) methods a plus. Full understanding of JEDC qualification processes & standards is also necessary. A BSME or equivalent is required. Some travel may be required.

20. Business Development Manager,

Overview:
• Identify and develop new business opportunities through marketing initiatives. Present Hittite's technical and manufacturing capabilities to prospective customers.
• Generate technical, cost, and management proposals. Identify and apply advanced circuit design solutions in response to customer solicitations. Perform technical analysis, generate compliance matrices, and lead customer negotiations in order to comply with all program requirements. Calculate manpower, material, and capital investments for each opportunity.
• Obtain contracts for new military and satellite programs with major defense contractors, R&D contracts from Government research agencies, and follow-on contracts for active programs.
• Present business plans and strategies to executive management.
• Lead cross-functional program teams, and assist in overall resource planning and cost rollups by program.
• Report to VP, Engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience in R&D and production of advanced Microwave and Millimeter Wave circuits and sub-systems.
